The Monroe Central Seminoles come into Friday projected to finish the season 4-6 at 14th in Region 27. They host the Shadyside Tigers, who are currently expected to make the playoffs at 3rd in Region 27. Shadyside have the edge on paper, entering the game as a 11-point favorite. However, the battle for a postseason bid can only be decided on the field. Shadyside comes in as Division 7's 12th-ranked team. Monroe Central comes in ranked 47th in Division 7. Monroe Central will be tested at home against a formidable Shadyside team. While the road team is expected to get the victory, overcoming homefield advantage could be a major challenge for Friday's favorite. The teams are no strangers to one another, playing against each other in each of the last five years. Over their last 5 matchups, the Tigers have been superior, coming out on top in 4 of them. However, the past won't matter come kickoff. In the most recent season's matchup, the Tigers proved superior, winning 55-0.

After their 35-8 win against the Bridgeport Bulldogs last week, Shadyside is 6-3 and looks to finish the season strong. The Tigers offense hasn't been particularly great this season in terms of point production, a trend which continues into recent weeks. Over their last 2 games, they've scored an average of 20.5 points - this season they've averaged 28.2, which ranks 33rd in Division 7. On defense, they're not much better statistically. They rank 7th in their division, allowing 11.1 points per game. However, they have improved as the season's gone on, giving up an average of 5.2 points over their last 5.

Monroe Central tallied up a 25-22 win against the Frontier Cougars last week, bringing their record to 4-5 - they'll look to add to the win column once again on Friday. Particularly in recent weeks, the Seminoles offense has struggled to put points on the board. In their last 3 games, they've put up an average of 12.33 points per game. Throughout the course of the season, they've averaged 22.4, which ranks 54th in Division 7. Defensively, giving up 19.8 points per game, they rank 32nd in the division.

Prediction: Shadyside to win (99.22% chance of victory)
