Friday's matchup between the Carroll Patriots and the Bishop Fenwick Falcons takes place between two teams that, as of now, most likely will not earn postseason bids. Currently, the Patriots and the Falcons are projected to finish 18th and 11th in their respective regional playoff standings. Bishop Fenwick enters the week as a 18-point favorite and will look to expand their playoff chances with a victory on Friday. For Carroll, this is a chance to prove themselves legitimate by coming out on top against a solid opponent. For Bishop Fenwick, this week is simply about doing what's expected of them. The teams are no strangers to one another, playing against each other in each of the last five years. Over their last 5 matchups, the Falcons have been superior, coming out on top in 5 of them. However, the past won't matter come kickoff. In last year's installment, the Falcons came out on top by a score of 42-41.

Last week, Carroll dropped a game 45-14 against the Badin Rams. They'll look to get in the win column this week as they hope to finish out the season on a positive note. The Patriots have struggled on offense, scoring only 15.5 points per game over their last 2 games. On the year, they rank 66th in Division 3, scoring an average of 24 points per game over the course of the season. They rank similarly on defense, coming in at 81st in their division, allowing 28.6 points per game. That number has generally gone up in recent weeks as they've given up an average of 18.33 points in their last 3 games.

Bishop Fenwick comes into Friday looking to put a halt to their 2-game losing streak and build some momentum moving forward. Last week's loss came at the hands of the Chaminade Julienne Eagles, who beat the Falcons by a score of 44-30. The Falcons have struggled on offense, scoring only 18 points per game over their last 2 games. On the year, they rank 67th in Division 3, scoring an average of 23.9 points per game over the course of the season. Defensively, giving up 25.6 points per game, they rank 67th in the division.

Prediction: Bishop Fenwick to win (98.16% chance of victory)
