Typically, the first two rounds consist largely of vastly superior teams beating up on other teams in their region that just so happened to get in with enough playoff points. This likely will not be one of those matchups as the Bloom-Carroll Bulldogs head into Sunday projected to beat the Waverly Tigers by a score of 34-27. The playoffs are the best time of the year but also come with a great deal of drama as many powerhouses will even see their seasons cut short. Each week, it's do or die and, after this week is complete, half of the current playoff teams will be eliminated. The Tigers rank 14th in the division while the Bulldogs rank 10th. A new game on the schedule for both teams, it should shape out as an unpredictable affair. Strategically, this might lead to complications that could throw off the gameplan of either team.

Waverly comes into the game on a 3-game winning streak. After last week's 40-0 win against the Gallia Academy Blue Devils, they are 9-2 and look to continue the positive momentum. The Tigers offense is the 11th-ranked offense in Division 4, scoring an average of 35.7 points per game over the course of the season. In their last 4 games, however, they've cooled off, averaging 33.25 points per game. Their defense gives up an average of 18.9 points per game, which ranks 31st in their division - in their last 2 games, they've improved, giving up an average of 7 points.

Bloom-Carroll will look to continue the momentum of their 5-game winning streak, the most recent addition to which was a 48-39 win against the Indian Valley Braves last week, bringing their record to 9-2. Scoring an average of 33.5 points per game on offense, the Bulldogs rank 18th in Division 4. They've been even more dominant in recent weeks, scoring an average of 40.75 over their last 4 games. While recent games have affected averages negatively, their defense is one of the best as well. They rank 16th in their division, giving up an average of 16.2 points per game.

Prediction: Bloom-Carroll to win (84.88% chance of victory)
